듣기만해도 나도 모르게 엉덩이가 들썩거리게 하는 신나는 노래가 있다.
내겐 이 노래가 그렇다.
1975년 미국에서 결성된 5인조 디스코 밴드인 ‘Wild Cherry’가 1976년 발표해서
빌보드차트에 18주간 올랐고, 9월 18일부터 3주간이나 1위를 차지했다고 한다.
수많은 영화에도 배경음악으로도 쓰이고,
(그중 하나, X파일의 히어로 멀더가 외계인잡는 영화 ‘에볼루션’ 거의 마지막부분에 짚차를 타고 달릴 때 흘러나옴)
우리나라의 많은 CF배경음악으로도 쓰였다.
(모 속옷광고에서 이 음악에 맞춰 송혜교가 조금은 어색한 춤을 췄던 기억이…)

30년이 지난 지금 들어도 전혀 손색이 없는 이 노래, 역시 명곡은 시대를 초월한다!

사족 : ‘Wild Cherry’라는 밴드명은 리더인 랍 파리시가 감기약 이름에서 따온 것이라고 한다.
환절기 감기때문에 고생하시는 모든 분들, 감기약 밴드가 선사하는 음악을 듣고 감기 ‘뚝’ 떨어지시길~

중국 국경절 맞이 화려한 ‘등축제’

북경에서는 지금 국경절을 맞아 여러가지 행사가 열리고 있다. 집에서 가까운 ‘용담공원(龙潭公园)’에 며칠 전부터 적잖은 수의 일꾼들이 들락날락하며 공사가 시작됐다. 처음엔 공원 이름처럼 연못안에 화려한 용 두 마리가 자리잡기 시작하더니, 어느새 가판대가 설치되고 갖가지 음식을 파는 곳이 들어서고, 사격, 공던지기같은 게임장도 생겼다.

9월 30일 오후, 저녁을 먹고 공원 산책이나 해볼까하고 나섰는데, 저 멀리 공원안의 불빛이 휘황찬란해서 20원이라는 거금의 입장료를 내고 들어가봤다. (평소에는 입장료가 2원이라는…)

연못에 떠 있는 두 마리 용 뿐만 아니라, 화려한 볼거리가 참 많았다. 10원이 결코 아깝지 않을 정도로^^
